I'm so happy you're here! I'm Shanequa Staton, creator of Girl Read Your Bible and I'm just a girl who loves God and His Word. When I first launched Girl Read Your Bible I never imagined God using what started out as just a Bible study journal to impact the lives of so many women. Right before I created Girl Read Your Bible in 2021 I was going through one of the darkest seasons of my life.

It was hard to pray, hard to open my Word. I was angry with myself because I felt like such a failure and weak, and to be honest I just didn’t know how to talk to God, He felt so far away. Feeling extremely spiritually dry, I knew I needed to get back on track and take back control of my life. I didn’t know what things would look like moving forward, but I knew I needed God and I needed to build intimacy with Him once again.  For me it started with seeking Him once again in His Word. So I searched for Bible study journals where I could read through the entire Bible and that actually taught me about the Bible. But I couldn’t find what I was looking for, so I started creating one. 

I didn’t think anyone would buy it, I didn’t even think about starting a business with it. I just knew there were so many women who felt what I was feeling and needed God as much as I did. I took a leap of faith and God has absolutely blown my mind. Girl Read Your Bible is so much more than just a brand, but a lifestyle that says regardless of how I feel or what my circumstances are, I'm going to read my Bible. I'm going to search God's Word to know what He says, over listening to what the world says. It's a commitment to be intentional about prioritizing your time in God's Word. I want to let you know you're not alone, we're in this together and I'm so excited to read my Bible with you.
